Tribute to a family musical heirloom. This Keefer silver-plated brass trumpet has flourished through four generations and has been played (with various levels of proficiency) by friends and family since the 1920s. Manufactured in Williamsport, PA, it has occasionally been heard with the added effect of a Zanetti mute attached to its bell.

After a snowstorm two weeks ago, New Yorkers continued to negotiate and struggle with towering piles of icy covered gray snow and growing accumulations of trash. Many of these pileups exceeded 5-6 feet in height, and were blocking intersections, pedestrian walkways & building entrances. Frustrated residents with imagination were observed trying a variety of unconventional transportation methods. One of the most peculiar but effective appeared to be physical levitation (see photos). 

In the above photo, an inspired pedestrian discarded his forearm crutch and levitated up, over & across a busy ice-blocked downtown intersection. It was estimated that he was gliding smoothly for 42 seconds and was  floating at a height of 16 feet above street level.
