Patience, the Library Lion
Posed on a pedestal near the marble front stair.
Tomes within guarded by majestic fanfare.
But the cat finally had it. Became angry & bored.
Jumped down, ran around & ferociously roared.
He was trucked to the zoo to live with his own.
But he dashed back down 5th, now cast forever in stone.
Fortitude, the other NYPL library lion.
